I’m not really a fan of big yards. They discourage walkability and socializing with neighbors. Often they require a lot of resource intensive upkeep in the form of water, weed killers, gas for the lawnmower, etc. This might be ok if people spent lots of time using their yards, but in reality most people could get by with a lot less yard, or even no yard at all. I spend way more time outside living in the city than I ever did when I lived in the suburbs.
